Dive into the magic of the Watamu Marine Protected Area with our Living Ocean workshop with Bahari Hai! Centered on sea turtles, we’ll explore how these gentle ocean travelers are protected right here in Watamu. Our highlight is the Turtle Photo ID activity – a real conservation tool where each turtle’s face is as unique as a fingerprint. At Machondoo area near Temple Point Hotel, our team photographs turtles and identifies individuals, helping us track and protect them. Through art, and hands-on fun, participants will experience how science and community come together to safeguard our turtles – and discover how they too can be part of the story.
